New for Fall 2025:✅ DTX 180: Exercising Empathy is now approved as a General Education course in Social & Behavioral Science. This change makes it more accessible to students across disciplines, particularly those looking to fulfill Gen Ed requirements while gaining practical skills in empathy-driven problem solving.✅ UX Theory & Tools has expanded to a full 16-week format, offering students a deeper dive into the world of user experience design.
Fall 2025 DTX Course Offerings:
• DTX 180 | Exercising Empathy (Gen Ed: Behavioral Science)Explore how empathy informs our relationships, choices, and problem-solving strategies. Students learn six core values that guide compassionate, intentional design.
• DTX 451 | Introduction to Design Thinking (In-Person & Online Synchronous)A dynamic, hands-on introduction to Human-Centered Design. Students collaborate to solve real-world problems through creativity, research, and iteration.
• DTX 495 | Intro to Ethics in HCD (2nd 8 Weeks, Online Asynchronous)Tackle complex ethical questions in design, from AI to sustainability, and develop frameworks for designing responsibly and inclusively.
• DTX 495 | Student-Centered App Design (2nd 8 Weeks, In-Person)Students design digital tools to improve the student experience—no coding required. Emphasis on collaboration, prototyping, and usability.
• DTX 495 | Intro to UX Theory and Tools (16 Weeks, Online Synchronous)Covers key UX concepts, from user research and psychology to wireframing and Figma-based prototyping. Ideal for students interested in digital product design.
