The Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory offers two Nicholson Fellowships for UIUC graduate students who wish to attend the School of Criticism and Theory, hosted at Cornell University, mid-June through mid-July 2024. In an intensive six-week course of study, participants work with a faculty of distinguished scholars in one of four six-week seminars. Each faculty member offers, in addition, a public lecture and a colloquium which are attended by the entire group. The program also includes mini-seminars and stand-alone lectures. The Unit’s fellowship covers the tuition and provides a housing stipend. For more information about the Cornell Summer Program: https://sct.cornell.edu/about. For more information about the Nicholson Fellowships, please write to: Unit-for-criticism@illinois.edu.

Applicants should send a current CV, writing sample, and application letter to the Unit for Criticism’s Acting Director, Shelley Weinberg (weinberg@illinois.edu). They should also request letters of support from two faculty members to be sent to the Acting Director.
