Every year the School of Architecture holds a two-week intensive summer program called Discover Architecture designed for high school students to explore the world of Architecture before college!
Under the instruction of Professor John Clark, Discover participants are introduced to design, studio culture, as well as other important architectural concepts. The 2023 program will be held July 9-22 in person on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
We are looking for enthusiastic Resident Assistants and Teaching Assistants to foster a fun and inclusive environment for these budding architects to discover architecture.

TA’s Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instructional support with activities and workshops
Attend Field Trips as needed
Go to lunch and dinner with participants and assist with setting up meals when not eating in the Resident Halls
Accompany students to evening activities that take place before 9:00 pm
Attend all required dates
Requirement: Graduating Seniors or Graduate Students in Architecture or Landscape Architecture
RA’s Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership during the 9:00 pm to 9:00 am time frame
Chaperone students to evening activities, trips to the store etc.
Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving and seek assistance when needed
Assume responsibility for the health and safety of participants and ensure students are comfortable, safe, and included.
Be aware of students with special needs and discuss those needs with camp administration
Report incidents, accidents, or problem to camp administration
