Resources for Graduate Students

The Graduate College offers a robust set of resources and services to support graduate students as they learn and develop. Find out more about opportunities offered this spring (many of which are available virtually) in the message below. Please share this information with your students and colleagues, and don't hesitate to let us know how we can collaborate with you. Professional Development Workshops Our event schedule for spring includes a wide range of programming to help graduate students succeed at Illinois and beyond, including workshops on:

  • Grant and Fellowship Writing

  • Faculty Job Searches

  • Time Management

  • Data Analysis

  • Career Decision-Making

  • And more

More events will be added as the semester unfolds, so encourage students to check the calendar and the weekly GradLinks newsletter regularly. One-on-One Support The Graduate College offers one-on-one coaching and support to graduate students as they navigate their time in graduate school. This spring, students can schedule appointments for career coaching, external fellowships advising, and academic problem-solving. Schedule a Customized Training As you plan programs for your graduate students, keep in mind that many Graduate College workshops can be requested by departments, faculty, and student groups. These workshops introduce grad students to important topics related to their professional and career development. Workshops can be a productive addition to orientations, courses, professional development seminars, and research group meetings. Learn more about requesting a customized workshop. Collaborate with Us We invite you to collaborate directly with us to incorporate professional development resources into your programs. We would be happy to talk about opportunities to work together in the coming year. Email gradsuccess@illinois.edu to connect with us.
